Crisis Line: Our confidential crisis line is in operation 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.  (503) 842-9486 or toll free in Oregon 1 (800)-992-1679.  The line is for victims of domestic violence (physical, emotional, or sexual) sexual assault, sexual harassment, incest, child abuse, and elder abuse.  Our crisis line volunteers have been trained to respond in a supportive way to a variety of situations.

                                       Our Philosophy

  1. The Women’s Crisis Center is committed to the safety and empowerment of all individuals who have experienced any form of oppression or violence or who perceive themselves to be at risk.

  2. We believe that violence of any kind (physical, emotional, verbal, or sexual) is intolerable and everyone has a right to freedom from fear and violence.

  3. We believe violence is a result of a system of oppression.

  4. We believe people possess inherent equality and that discrimination on any basis (sex, age, color, religious, sexual preference, or ethnic background) is a denial of that basic right.

  5. We recognize the need for victims of violence to discuss their experiences with advocates who are empathetic and sensitive to the seriousness of those experiences.

  6. We believe it is crucial that victims are encouraged to make decisions for themselves, and we emphasize our sincere belief in their ability to do so.

  7. We believe people of all ages have the basic right to safety, dignity, respect and equality.  They have the right to express themselves, to be heard and to live in a non-violent environment.

The Tillamook County Women's Crisis Center offers a safe refuge and support to women and children who survive domestic and sexual violence. Our programs and services inform survivors of their options and support them in their choices. A cornerstone of our philosophy is respect for the survivor's rights including the right to decide whether to report to the police the crime or crimes committed against her. We work with survivors of any race, color, creed, religious belief, or sexual orientation.
